The Puppy Village forum is a friendly community for dog lovers to discuss all about owning dogs and caring for them, to ask and answer dog related questions, share photos, stories, and other information about our furry friends, and more!

We are passionate about our dogs and we know that there are many others out there who are too and so we created this forum to share our love for dogs. We have made the rules below to guide the interaction of all Puppy Villagers and the purpose is to ensure that the forum remains a friendly, organised and productive place that is welcoming and respectful of opinions that differ.

It is important to keep them in mind when posting!

1 Be courteous

While opinions on same subjects may differ, it is important to be polite and courteous in expressing contrary views.

2 Do not use foul language.

This forum is accessible to dog lovers of all ages and so the use of foul language is highly prohibited

3 Keep threads on topic.

Please keep the original poster's purpose for starting a thread in mind when posting and while conversations may evolve, we think that it would neither be polite nor productive to completely change the direction of the conversation.

4 Please use proper language when posting.

Please no short hand texting or slangs are allowed. Every communication should be easily understandable so that a major purpose of the forum which is to help people learn can be achieved.

5 Let the moderators do the moderating.

Please contact us directly if you think a member breaks a rule and do not make a post addressing this.

6 Do not make unauthorized advertisements.

This is not a sales or marketing platform and so all adverts of shared links that promote another website or a product will be removed.

7 Do not discuss inappropriate subject matter.

Posts promoting dog fighting, discussing illicit drug use, pornography will be removed and the member may be banned.

8 Do not try to give away your dog or ask for a dog to adopt.

This is not a place for adoption of dogs. There are animal shelters and dog rescue groups that are set up for that purpose.

9 Do not ask for money.

We do not want to see well intentioned members manipulated into sending their money to people with ill intentions and so asking for money for any reason on the forum is prohibited.

10 Do not promote or link to other forums or social networks here. 11 Animal Abuse and Neglect.

If it is brought to our attention that a dog may be being abused, mistreated, or neglected by a member, and the member does not act to resolve the issue, they may be banned.

12 The forum is not a replacement for a veterinarian.

Only a vet can diagnose and prescribe medications for your pet. Not only are very few members actually qualified to do so (members with the 'Veterinarian' tag), but doing so over the internet without seeing the animal in person is unsafe. Members please do not diagnose or prescribe via the forum. For safety and legality reasons people need to be going to a veterinarian.
